Some sculptures sometimes look very lifelike. This is the case of the giant serpent skeleton created by a Japanese artist which is now placed at the bank of river Loire, France. We take you to explore this impressive sea dragon that seems to change its appearance with sea tides.

This is the commune of  Saint-Brevin-les-Pins situated on the bank of river  Loire, where the river enters the Bay of Biscay. Since 2012, this area houses the “Snake Ocean” by Huang Yong PingComposed entirely of aluminum, this giant serpent structure is over 130 meters long. This sculpture was made ​​with a point of view to be exhibited at the Estuary 2012, a festival of contemporary art.

This work by Huang Yong Ping is a hybrid of culture and identity. The environment also plays a very important role in this work, when tide is low we see the serpent appears to be on the beach while with a high tide the serpent appears to return to its marine habitat.
