Brand Killer: This Revolutionary Headset Blocks Intrusive Ads

On the television, on the Internet or on the streets, advertisements have invaded our daily lives. Solution? Four young friends had this original idea to create  a helmet that in real time bocks different advertisements! Check out this ingenious prototype that can get rid of all the intrusive ads.

The ads pop up all around us. We see them everywhere and it seems almost and always impossible to avoid them. Yet Reed RosenbluthJonathan DubinCatuklo Tom and Alex Crits-Christoph may have found a way to remove them from our everyday life. During a hackathon, that is to say, a gathering of developers working together, these four young people have developed “Brand Killer”. This helmet “brand killer” is able to blur logos in real time during daily life.

It is currently a prototype manufactured in just 48 hours from a virtual reality helmet. It has a 7-inch screen, a webcam and an advanced image recognition. Thus, when the user perceives a mark at the screen of his helmet, the program hides the logo. However, the Killer Brand is not quite ready and needs to be improved. The project itself remains challenging and encouraging.

Here’s the small demonstration of Killer Brand:
