According to Arabic newspaper Elaph, only reason given by Saudi religious police “Committee for the Promotion of Virtue and Prevention of Vice” was that they were too good looking and that local women may fall under their charm. However, the Dubai based Emirati newspaper 24/7 stated that the men were expelled as Emirati women artists were also present in festival and Saudis did not like intermingling of sexes.
