Now with the help of Google Street View, you can explore the pre-Spanish Mayan cities of Mexico from the comfort of your home. Google Mexico and the National Institute of Anthropology and History of Mexico have already added 30 pre-Hispanic sites to the Google street view. Google Street View allows users to get 360 degree panoramic and interactive views of these historical sites. The images are themselves made up of millions of photos taken using Special Google Vehicle. To access these difficult sites, Google had to use a special custom built tricycle. Google Mexico’s goal is to include 90 historic sites across country. Here, we present some of the snapshots of these historic Mayan sites as seen on Google Street View.
