Most of us would have experienced that sometimes it is difficult to remember the names of people that we know. According to the University of Sussex, this happens because the brain is trying to avoid being overloaded with information.

“Scientists have long wondered why the brain suffers such blackouts. The memory formation is a process that requires a lot of energy. The brain has a limited capacity to learn things and forgetting things is a way to avoid overload,” said Dr. Ildiko Kemenes who is one of the experts at the University of Sussex.
