Do you like seeing book albums of the most beautiful landscapes of our planet but are frustrated not to be able to immerse in the surrounding noises of those scenes? Well, this is now possible thanks to this book which allows you to both enjoy the beauty of these images, as well as, feel the effect of sourrounding sounds. We tell you more about this invitation to an immersive journey…
Hvisl-Whispers of Iceland is a book like no others, created by two French who are both graphic designers and lovers of Iceland:Bertrand Lanthiez and Chloe Cure. Both have designed a book that allows you to enjoy the noises of the landscapes that you see: you have to just plug earphones into your headphones and let yourself be lulled by the recorded sounds.
To make this book,, Bertrand and Chloe have made a journey of several weeks in the heart of Iceland to collect lots of pictures and sounds. Thus, the pages of this book let you discover the island like never before, through an immersive and more enjoyable experience. Artists had wanted to present each of their photographs in full screen with a few explanatory lines in subtitles to “maintain the strength, as well as, a specific landscape impact and stress, sometimes in almost a hypnotic style,” they explain.
This book has totally fascinated us! We would love to test it and immerse ourselves in the heart of Iceland. A great way to explore the island for those who have unfortunately not had the chance to contemplate that place with their own eyes. Congratulations to these two French designers! We hope they will reproduce such experiences from other countries as well.Would you like to read the book and immerse yourself in a soundscape?
