After four years of work, Google was able to develop its concept of intelligent and autonomous car as a real working prototype. Dubbed Google Car, this car is distinguished by the fact that it did not need a driver to move on the road. With its integrated GPS, it can calculate a route and reach destination with ease… And above all safely!
There is an even more amazing thing in this car, Google has decided to completely remove the wheel and brake pedals, throttle and clutch! The Google Car therefore consists of only two passenger seats… And the passengers only have to enjoy the journey. However, they can check the route through a screen.

Google explains on its blog: “The prototype has no clutch, accelerator or brakes because it does not need them. Software and sensors take care of everything. The vehicle is currently fairly rudimentary- we want to experiment and progress – but it will send you where you want by pressing a button. “
Thus, the strange object on the roof of the car is the detector in question: a gyro tool equipped with radars and lasers to identify in advance any obstacles that might impede the way. According to Google, the detectors are so efficient that they can “see” at a distance equivalent to two football fields! The risk is minimized by the maximum speed of the vehicle: only 40 km/h.
Google hopes to move the project into high gear with the public testing in this summer of nearly 100 prototypes of the Google Car. We would like to try all these cars independently.
