Classroom of the Future: Technological Progress

In spite of being a firm believer of the widely acclaimed saying that, “Every generation must think several steps ahead of their previous generations”, we often fail to ensure this very progress in our classrooms. The present world is progressing with the speed of light, or faster than so in fact. Even 20 years ago, we lived in a world where we could not imagine the involvement that our young generation has with technology and the wider implications that it has on their everyday lives. Without technological progress, our classrooms will not be able to cater to the needs of the present or future generations. That being said, there is a lot of scopes to work on this aspect and with due diligence, we will be able to present the classroom that our young generation needs and deserves, in order to experience a sound and fulfilling learning experience.

Information technologies are a tool without which the solution of a number of tasks would be difficult at the present time. ICT tools are an effective means of individualizing learning, intensifying students’ independent work, increasing motivation and cognitive activity. The students develop the ability to search the Internet for educational purposes, classify information, critically approach it, compare, that is, in general, helps to increase the information culture, which is a necessary quality of a modern person, instills the skills of self-education, helps . Moreover, if there is interest, then there is progress, which further affects the quality of education.

Technology, if used in a fruitful way, can help to enhance the learning experience by many folds. Students will be able to learn their lessons easily using up to date modern technology and thus save their time, enhance interest in study materials and experience a more effective and different studying method with this.

Computers are probably the most common technology that can be used in a classroom but that does not make it any less important. Computers can be used to research on various topics, assist students in understanding difficult concepts, deciphers hard terminologies and problems and what not. They are one of the most useful and handy tools that classrooms must have in order to ensure a complete learning experience.

Classrooms will have a more vibrant and interactive layout that has a pronounced touch of technology instead of the age-old rows of tables and chairs. Learning will not just be limited to traditional generic classrooms; rather students will study via different software that will also help them to communicate with their teachers and classmates.

Projectors are a staple in many classrooms at present but the need of modern projectors is still endless. They are more advanced than the traditional projectors that we use and have features that can enhance and assist in the learning process. Elmos is a type of presentation system that is associated with a document camera, a projector, and an interactive whiteboard. They are basically designed for teachers and can help greatly in teaching in the classroom. The smart boards are digital interactive whiteboards, which do not require any supplies to be used. They can be called future whiteboards. All these technologies are capable of enriching the future classrooms many folds.

Virtual and augmented reality will also play a major part in shaping the classrooms of the future. Students will not only be confined to books for learning, rather they will experience three-dimensional images and understand concepts by living them with their own eyes, be it a tiny atom or the vast solar system. Besides, video images will also be a great factor in transforming the educational landscape and various apps can help in this endeavor, where instead of reading from books, active learning can be done from other sources. Besides that, one good helpful way to solve problems with homework is turning to companies like Pro-Papers, which helped a lot of students on a knife edge.

In various developing countries, students cannot continue their education after high school due to poverty in spite of being highly talented and meritorious. This issue can be solved by the future educational layout with the help of modern technology. A student with an internet connection can now take up classes for free or very little money, in various online websites, which are credible and help to write papers. The classes are also taken by skilled professors. These types of classes are gaining more popularity and in the future, classrooms will not only be confined to a room but turn into a concept; where education is the more important aspect than the space itself.

Technology dependency is seen in the youth of the present generation to such an extent that they cannot imagine their lives without it. Therefore, it will not be a surprise if the education system too transforms in order to start towards a similar pathway. This clearly has its benefits but the implications can be dire if not handled wisely.
