With the advancement in technology, quadcopter drones are getting more sophisticated with increase in size, durability, speed and reliability. While the market leader like parrot and DJI are competing to make bigger and faster drones there are some companies that are going in the opposite direction and making even smaller drones. Axis drone is one such company that has made the world’s smallest quadcopter.

Named as Aerius, this quadcopter has incredibly small dimensions it has a length of 3cm, width of 3cm and a height of 2cm. This means it produces a very small footprint when in the air. Despite its very small footprint which is the size of a quarter, it boasts many specifications that are at par with the bigger drones. For example, you can pre-program it for a given path. Equipped with a 6-axis gyroscope, it has the ability for auto-stabilization.

However, there is one drawback of its small size as it limits the size of the battery. Hence, it only has an autonomy of 5-7  minutes flight. But on the plus side the battery can be recharged in only 15 minutes. It can be controlled using a 2.4 gHz transceiver, this means it can go as far as DJI Phantom but then you may have problem spotting it due to its small size.
Despite its innovative design and miniature size, you can buy it for 35 bucks only. You can also have the color of your choice. While the Pre-orders can be made on the official website, Axis expects the shipping to begin in the next couple of months.
